Sorry Mom!!

Lets talk about getting high. Oof yes I said it and my mom would probably want to kill me after I share this, but unfortunately for her, I have dedicated my blog to being completely open, honest, and fucking REAL. Sweet Mary Jane was introduced to me my senior year of high school, really late compared to others, but I think it was perfect timing. Not too early where it affected me my schooling and not too late so I knew what the smell was while walking around my college campus. Little senior Tati had no idea how to smoke, took one piece of a brownie after prom, and one day got caught by my mother and the next day had an intervention put together with my best friends attending. I was a naive novice who only knew that I liked the feeling of being high: my anxiety was diminishing, I was sleeping better, I had more control and awareness of my body compared to drinking, no hang-over was involved, and food tasted so goddamn good.

It’s been 4 years. And for the first time, I was able to walk into a dispensary in California and make a legal purchase. The adrenaline wasn't the same, but my excitement spilled as I hopped counter to counter looking at all the candies and goodies. I have had dreams about cooking with THC and watched countless shows like Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, Cooking on High, and Cooked with Cannabis and every single recipe called for a butter or oil infused with THC and CBD. Similar to how Step It Up made me want to become a street dancer, these shows made me want to become a master in the art of cooking with THC. So guess what I bought at the dispensary????

and you know what’s the first thing I HAD to try to make??

~Mashed Potatoes~

In my opinion, the best mashed potatoes is based all around simplicity. When you start adding too much, you lose the appreciation of the original ingrediant: the potato! So I am going to give you guys my recipe to make for yourselves or to secretly give to your family!

Since it contains butter and milk, the THC molecules will stick to the fatty acids or sugars! The perfect food to pair with Cannabis.

Tati’s Mashed POT:

Cooking time: 35 Min

Servings: 5–6

Ingrediants:

  • 2 pounds of any potato! (I prefer Yukon, peeled or unpeeled based on preference) and quartered!
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Chives (optional)
  • Any THC extract

INSTRUCTIONS:

Bring a pot of HELLA salted water to boil (you want that shit to taste like the ocean). While the water is still heating up, add your quartered potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, so about 20 min. Drain!

Set the heat down to the lowest heat and put your drained potatoes back in the pot. Use your potato masher to get all your anger out and make that shit creamy! (That’s what she said). Then start to add your half of stick of butter, milk, and heavy cream! Once everything is beautifully combined, add you salt, pepper and 1mL of the 99% THC extract ( I found this to be the best dosage/serving size for a semi-frequent smoker (me lol)).

Boom, you’re fucking done. I like to add cilantro or chives at the end to feel boujee, but it’s not necessary at all! Make this be the star of a friends-giving, a great side for date night, or if you want to secretly get your family feeling chill.

Please remember that the dosage really depends on your comfortability and experience with Cannabis! Play around and have fun! Thats all what weed and cooking is about!!
